Job Summary

You will be responsible for driving sales and business development within the IIoT automation space. The role demands technical expertise combined with a consultative approach to selling and will work closely with potential customers to understand their requirements and propose tailored automation solutions.

Job Responsibilities

    Business Development & Sales:

    • Identify and target new business opportunities in the IIoT and automation space
    • Generate leads, build relationships, and convert prospects into customers
    • Engage in strategic sales activities, including cold calling, emailing, and networking within industry events
    • Understand customer pain points and propose customized IIoT automation solutions that deliver value

    Technical Consultations & Presentations:

    • Provide pre-sales technical support, including detailed product demonstrations, proposals, and technical documentation
    • Deliver presentations to customers on the benefits and functionality of IIoT automation solutions
    • Assess customer requirements and work with internal technical teams to design tailored solutions

    Client Management & Support: 

    • Act as the main point of contact for customer queries, issues, and support after the sale
    • Maintain strong customer relationships to foster repeat business and long-term partnerships
    • Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of solutions, coordinating with engineering and project management teams

    Market Intelligence & Reporting:

    • Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the IIoT and automation industry
    • Provide feedback to the product team on market demands, customer preferences, and competitor activities
    • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and activity updates to management

    Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites, industry events, and trade shows as required (within India and occasionally internationally)

Key Requirements

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or related fields)
  • Additional certifications in IIoT, Automation, or Sales Engineering will be a plus

 Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in sales or business development in the industrial automation or IIoT industry
  • Hands-on experience in automation technologies, IIoT products, sensors, SCADA systems, PLCs, and related technologies
  • Prior experience in handling technical sales and pre-sales consultations is preferred

Skills:

  • Technical Expertise: Good understanding of industrial automation systems, IoT devices, sensors, and data analytics in manufacturing environments
  • Sales & Negotiation Skills: Ability to close deals and effectively negotiate terms while understanding customer needs
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Confidence: A self-driven, confident, and proactive approach to sales and client interaction
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to understand complex technical requirements and provide effective solutions
  • Travel Ready: Comfortable with frequent travel for client meetings, project deployments, and industry events
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships
  • High level of enthusiasm, passion for technology, and adaptability
  • Team player with the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and product teams
  • Confidence: A go-getter attitude, willing to take on challenges and manage complex sales processes
